Anusara Yoga
Anusara (a-nu-sar-a), means “flowing with Grace,” “flowing with Nature,” “following your heart.”
Founded by John Friend in 1997, Anusara yoga is a school of hatha yoga, which unifies a life-affirming Shiva-Shakti Tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment. Anusara yoga’s remarkable growth is due in large part to its uplifting philosophy, epitomized by a “celebration of the heart” that looks for the good in all people and all things. Consequently, students of all levels of ability and yoga experience are honored for their unique differences, limitations, and talents.
I love Anusara Yoga and have been practicing it since 1999. It has the precision plus the great care of form and alignment without losing the joy and delight. The mantra of Anusara is to practice doing the yoga with the intent of holding an open heart to include the hearts of all. Anusara and Kundalini are the perfect companions as far as I’m concerned. One sets the foundation of form (Anusara) in a joyous way for the vastness of experience the other will bestow (Kundalini). Come and enjoy both.
