Light, lite, lit Which are you?

I had a realization this morning while teaching. Out of my mouth popped this,” How can you be a light when the load you are carrying is so heavy?” I realized that each moment we get to choose anew what is more important our light or our load. Here we are at this precious time of year we call Solstices. Precious because it beckons us to get really connected. We do, we connect with everyone but ourselves.

Winter Solstice is the feminine Solstices we reach the darkest moment on our side of the  planet. We sometimes also meet our own personal darkest moment here. We think it is our families, the stress of the holidays, or here in Southern California the fact that our foundations and our roofs are not  faring well in this incessant rain. Truly it is none of those. This is the time of year to sit in darkness with your own darkness. We usually like to run away from or distract ourselves out of being with our own darkness.

So interesting that only in darkness can you really see the light, literally and figuratively. The birth of light on this planet and your own desire to have your internal flame lite is happening very strongly right now. You can work with the forces at work here and donate some time to just being with you or you can stay super busy and miss the opportunity that the universe is giving you so you can get lit.

A light, a star, a sun, don’t just pop into being they take millions of years to create or at least to be seen by us. Your light will grow as you are willing to be with your darkness. Tell you a fun story. Millareppa was sent off to a cave by himself by his teacher to face his fear. One day after meditating he heard loud bells and clanging noises accompanied by a truly awful steanch. He knew it must be connected to him becasue he was out in the jungle away from everyone. He went to his cave door and there they were a band of what we would call tattered monsters today. Scruffy and scary looking. He recognized them as his fears but wondered what he was supposed to do with them. His teacher did not tell him what to do. He decided to greet them. He bowed and said, ” Welcome.” Half ,yes half of them, vanished. So he decided to follow his instincts and invited the remaining ones in to his cave. Again they reduced in considerable numbers. So he asked them to please  sit  down another bunch “poof”. Only 3 remained. He then said I will go make tea for us. two more gone. When he returned with tea they were all gone. If you want your fears to vanish be kind and compassionate. Ask what then what they came to teach you. Don’t let them tell you tales of past. Tell them “Right now what have you come for? No digressions right now.” Then listen deeply very deeply.

Once we stop retreating they loose their power and the light starts growing. Once our pain gets to ginormous we are willing to change do something we might have thought of as weird. We need enough darkness to feel the mystery of the feminine. We need enough darkness to truly witness the birth of light, the light, our light, to dump the darkness we are being stifled by. Waking up for the light is being born again . Compassion is reining and we get to see it, feel it rejoice in it. Dump the load, your load and let yourself be lite.

Okay, today we really dive in and look at the most delicate of subjects –
YOUR HABITS.

Rule #3. Are you willing to change your habits?

This is the biggest question. If you are not willing to start this journey, this is the stop where you will be getting off. It has been lovely knowing you.

You cannot go one step further until you stand up, preferably on a chair or high mountain, and yell at the top of your voice, “I am willing to change my habits!” Now write it down 108 times. Teachers made us do this long ago and far away to ingrain the mantra they wanted us to remember in our conscious mind. So pick up your notebook and write
that specific mantra, “I am willing to change my habits,” 108 times. Why 108? For all the 26’s we have in our body represented by the hands, feet, spine, and head, as well as 108 names of God. I think they have undercounted on the name of God thing. While writing, hear the mantra resonating with in you.

Now, are you ready to rearrange your life, house, office, and car? Good! Here we go.

First, make a list of all the rooms in your house and include your office and car. It doesn’t matter if your office is at home or not. It’s time to start clearing out the old to make room for the new.

Pick a room to start clearing it out. You don’t have to do all the rooms at once, but you do need to complete the list within 120 days. So start with a small room, maybe even with that room’s closet or cabinets, and do a slash and burn. Imagine yourself on TV’s Clean Sweep.

Make THREE piles or bags for the following:

1. Throw away right now
2. Give away to your cleaning lady or favorite charity
3. I don’t know not really ready to release but…

For pile #3, get your person or someone close to you to go over this pile with you. Some things will have to be wrenched from your clasped hands and others may be legit to keep. See how much you can put into the first two piles. Keep going back to your closet /cabinet until you’ve cleared it out. You can’t change holding on to all the stuff of the past.

A good rule for your clothes closet is if you have not worn it in the last year it belongs to someone else who will wear it. Pass it on. Pass it on with love to someone you know would appreciate it or just give it up knowing that the right person will find it. (You can even hold a fashion swap party with friends or give work clothes (suits/dresses) to organizations that provide work clothes to those returning to the work force.)

YOU MUST GET EVERYTHING OUT FROM UNDER YOUR BED.
TODAY. Where are you going to put it? You can decide that, but you need a clear, clean sleeping space so your psychic, soul, and body can rest.

Rearrange your pathways:

Now that you’ve cleared out your personal space, it’s time to clear your pathways. We are going for clarity and clutter does not breed clarity. We are such great accumulators aren’t we? We all have pathways from our house to work, from our desk to the fridge, from our work to the ice cream shop, etc.

Stop and think of all your pathways and write them down.

How do you go when you are going to X, Y, Z?

Write as many pathways as you can think of and then leave room to add others as you think of them. Add to this list daily if more come to you.
These physical pathways to destinations actually create brain pathways, so if we want to change the brain pathways, we must change our habit pathways.

First, you must see and identify your current pathways.
Second, write them down and know them.
Third, change them by creating new patterns we call habits.

You can’t do this in a day. That is why we have a 120-day commitment.

Choose the pathway you see as most clearly not in line with your great, fabulous, lovely, powerful goal and work with that one.

It might be: “I go right for the fridge when I am watching late nite TV to unwind.” Work that. Or, “I get so hungry I forget to eat till it’s too late and then I go to drive-thru restaurants because I just can’t think anymore.”

Choose your ONE that you know is your most damaging pathway. Write it down. Now make a list of others.

Let’s tackle the drive-thru eating.

Next time you go food shopping buy some things to keep in the car.
Ideas: nuts, dried fruit, individual applesauce servings, crackers and nut butter that you can make in the car if you need to, protein bars (read the labels for good protein content and LOW sugars as sugars make you fat and cranky, not skinny).

Think of a store on your route where you could breeze in and pick up a prepared salad and a fork.

I am not advocating eating while you drive or at your desk, but we are working back from where you are, not expecting you to go from hideous to saintly in one jump. Have patience and just note your personal pathways and how you might find better solutions in creating new pathways.

Now I am asking you, I’m begging you, I’m down on my knees singing to you – please repeat this with each pathway you have tracked in your life. This may be too much for one day so give yourself one week to do this. Remember it only took God seven days to create the world right? Ha! Seven is the number of consciousness that is why we talk about the seven-year itch, which is change. Each week, each seven days, contains that mini consciousness change.

So create your list of pathways (habits).
Choose one pathway and explore other solutions and options for that habit.
Repeat this process with each pathway over the next week.

Embrace the consciousness of seven and see what it can give you back. Seven is also your magnetic field, which surrounds everything in our lives, including TV’s and computers and YOU.

Do this when you feel stuck and lifeless. It brings the life force back. I say choose between “life force or forced life.”

Claw Dance
Two steps for radiant, charismatic energy

Round and tighten fingers in long clawed-like hands.
Come up tall on your toes swinging the arms out to the sides and up over the head in a big arc motion. Breath in on the way up while saying “WHO”. Next, squat down while the arms are swinging downward in a big arc. Exhale saying “LA” on the way down. Keep repeating these 2 steps.

Round up and tighten fingers to mimic long claws.
Starting tall on tip toes, swing the arms up over the head in a big arc motion. Inhale on the way up while saying “WHO.”
Exhale saying “LA” while squatting down and swinging the arms down in a big arc.
Keep repeating these 2 steps. C

Continue 1-2 minutes

Gift:
Strengthens thighs and increases energy. Replenishes your energy field and expands awareness. Helps clears the mind when facing challenges.

Do you want your Skinny back? #2

I am assuming that you have “your person” by today and are ready to proceed. What do you need to do with “your person”? You need to make the commitment to them that you will follow this program for the total 120 days and you want then to hold you to that no matter how you squirm and squeal.

The meditations I gave in session #1 are to be done as followed. You are following me right?
1. The When you don’t know what to do should be done every morning or every nite pick either and then do it at that time for the entire duration. No bouncing back and forth like a ping-pong ball. Hmmm that is exercise. That bouncing is a brain, your brain trying to get out from under perceived restrictions. Great news it is not a restriction is it an amazing commitment that you have made to the skinny you, the bright you, the energetic you.

2.The other: Whistle or “O” breath is to be done during the day when you are feeling challenged, unsure, anxious, fearful whatever word you choose to apply to those !@#$%

New Times

What happening now?

I went to a red carpet event last Friday nite that was a book launch. There was also a mini movie made about the author. I know only in LA. This man has been very inspirational in forming a very large spiritual community. This community who teach conscious classes to adults and children and do good work in the community. The odd thing was this movie was only about him and how truly cool he was. It made he students or congregation look very dumb. It missed the point of this amazing community. The whole focus was HIM. I couldn’t wait to leave. He may be great but his creation could tell that story so much better.

This is what life is about now Community. How we can create ones that mission statement and mission in action is to give people tools to uplift themselves, body, mind and spirit. People still want to look up to an inspiring leader but truth be told it is the legacy that is left that counts.

These times are not about “the one” they are about the WE. The Us what we can do together. That is the movie I want to see the book I want to read. There are such programs being formed all around. It is inspiring to see that this is true. It is the time to uplift and create a weave that will hold all. That these new times are calling for a new way of living and acting and it is not about you or me. It is about us.

I just got off a call with Quattro University where I am honored to be part of the staff. It is becoming a community of those who feed others and are in turn are feed what they need. We all have needs and we all have gifts. Some of us know what our blank pages are and some don’t. Some are ready to ask for help and some not yet. Lets face it we all have blank pages what are yours?

This University is based on the four quadrants of your life that need to be feed. Wealth, try being without it and it’s not so fun Wellness, without this one you start loosing all the others, Leadership, the capacity to stand up and take charge of your gifts and share them effectively with others and Legacy, what we will leave behind, how conscious we are of being stewards in the now. This is something to be part of.

I have been part of many groundbreaking organizations and will be part of many more. I treasure all I have learned by living what I have been taught. Now I only want effective. What is effective for more and more people is to learn how to become their own Guru’s? Truly their own Gurus and then have the capacity to share what they know with others. This takes discipline, this takes commitment, and this takes having an experience of what can be and being willing to dance with that possibility each day till it becomes you.

Are you ready for this new wave? Are you ready for the Yes We Can? Are you ready to be the change? The time is calling you and you and you and me. My answer is yes. I am here for you. What do you want to share that the world needs today?
