I want relational longing

I want

By Gurutej Kaur

I want to do what I came here for

I want to get out of my own way

I want to not want to skip ahead

of those tawny tarnished moments

I want to not only open my eyes

But my skin

So I can feel the beauty hidden

In deep crags of crevasses

I want no more cold longing nights

I want not to feel all the pain

When I’m just walking through

People’s lives

I want to feel the soft caress of

Support

I want to use what I have been given

To uplift

I want more patience

I want less patience and

The power to know when to use

Which one

I want ice-cold clarity

I want fire-warmed compassion

I want to serve and feel the ground

Of being served

I want to claim everything

I want to claim nothing

I want to be greedy hoarding everything

I want to let go needing nothing

Is this confusion?

Or loving to straddle both sides

Till they merge

Like melting ice

Oceans upon Oceans

Are created from these wants

These visions

Relationships are like this. The most important one being the one with your own soul and the vastness encoded within it. Write your own poem, read poems to each other, create poems for each other they speak to the soul. Speak in that language. See from your heart.
