7 Tips To A Better Life

 

We often try to live our lives around ourselves. What do I mean by that? That you are not part of your life. The things you want are. The things you need or think you need are. The lists of what you have to do are. But ways to really improve your life force are often missing. We often have a forced life instead of a powerful and strong life force.

Tips – These things will feed you back:

1. Your life force is the most important aspect of your life. Knowing the upkeep so you have a powerful life force is the key.

2. Ways you can feed your true life force. Good healthy food that will give you true energy. Plant based eating habits. Lose the energy stealing food and drinks. Junk food makes you junk. Real food doesn’t come in packages with names you can’t pronounce.

3. Move this wonderful unite you have been given. Check out the structure it tells you by the movable parts that it wants you to be able to freely move inside of it. Do the moving things you love daily even if only for 10-20 minutes.

4. Declutter your house, our office, your car, your drawers. Clutter makes you cluttered with no space to expand into.

5. Create a sacred space in your home where you can sit and meditate. Size doesn’t matter as long as you can sit in it.

6. Love like there is no tomorrow for we have no way of knowing if there is. Don’t waste 1 minute hating it steals your energy and clouds your heart.

7. Gratitude is not only the list you make but how you live it in big and small ways. Compliment and praise everyone in your life often it goes far in creating connection. It also saves lots of time in clean up on the back end.

Okay a bonus tip. Chant, yes chant so that the sound current will support you. We are all made of sound. We are resonant beings. I love Long Wahe Guru’s for calming down. Waaaaa Hayyyyy Guuuuu Rooooo.

Yoga, You-ga, what is it really?

There are so many definitions of yoga. I am going to give you one that you may not have read before. After lifetimes of yoga and 40 + years this time around, I can tell you a few things it is and it is not.

It is:

1. Doing what connects you to you.

2. It is about opening up. Using the angles of your body to do what they were made to do. Move and open your gifts unto you.

3. Asanas or postures are great, but they are a method to a means not the means itself.

4. There are many ways of yoga, not types but ways:

a. There is the sound current, the naad;

b. There is the mudras or hand positions that bring balance;

c. There are the countless types of breathing for the many aspects of our lives; and

d. There is the understanding of the penetration of the body with all these ways.

5. There is understanding and standing under the sacredness of the body as a humble container of the soul, your soul. Treating it as sacred. Eating, breathing, chanting, meditating. speaking, and moving from that sacred instead of scared space.

It is not:

1. Doing the things that harm the body. All the bodies, you have 10, from very subtle to very gross (physical).

2. Speaking in a way that does not serve your connection, your unity.

3. Acting as if you are separate from others. Better or Worse.

4. Using only your 5 senses and forgetting your 6th sense (intuition) and above as your consultants.

5. Losing the joy of life. Feeling hopeless and helpless.

Yoga, the word, has come to mean positions that are done in a class, on a mat not the yoga of life. That is the part that is most important. How do you bring this feeling of connectivity, openness that yoga bestows into the life you live. That is the grace and power of yoga. That is the true living yoga. That you go all out in your life. That you become a light and radiance to others no matter what is happening in your life. That you ask for help with the heavy lifting (the load of life). That you are open to the change that accompanies all lives. That you feel Divinely connected even when it may feel that God must hate you or it wouldn’t be this hard. Using the tools of yoga to get back to the life of yoga. The tools are not the yoga they are the tools needed to get there. If you are only doing asanas, the postures, and think you are doing yoga, please realize this is not true. You are doing certain postures, but without the lifestyle.  You are letting yoga do you and not doing yoga for you. Yoga needs to do you, to be you. So you are what can allow others to experience the connection, the yoga of life.

More time in your day part 2

I gave you the overall in the last blog this time is the down and gritty part that you have do do the work. There is an old Saying I love. To succeed at anything there are three things you must  do and each one is the most challenging at that step.

1. Show up. Till you do this nothing can happen. Somethings are easy to show up for and others not so much.

2. Do the work. Some work you love, some challenges you, some your resist and some you just downright avoid at all cost.

3. Don’t be attached to the results. need I say more we really get attached to this one and feel totally justified in doing so.

That being said I am going to apply that to the seed of needing less sleep… Meditation this may be more challenging to some of you than cold showers, much more intimidating than switching your diet to a more plant based no junk food style. Meditation is only challenging till you start showing up for it. You meditate and then at some point it just does you you are no longer the doer of it.

Here are a couple really simple ones to choose from.

Doe this for at least 11 consecutive minutes 22 much better. You have to get in at least 1 hour/day so do 62 right here or split in in half 31 morning 31 nite before bed. Know yourself and to thine ownself be true.

This one has a sound and it will give you allot of energy not recommended right before bed.

Sit with your spin straight not with lower back arched. it can be on the floor, in a chair, in bed with pillows behind you. allow your hands to relax in your lap with the first finger (jupiter for accepting wisdom deep knowledge) toughing the thumb creating a circle (so the energy is being recycled into you). Then close your eyes and focus  right between your two eyes at your third eye. The sound is this: WAH Which means the vastness of WOW the depth of YES. It will give you that deep joy. HEY the waking up of that joy. GURU which is the transformation of that which is unseen (in darkeness ) into seen (Light). This meditation helps to bring the unmanifest into manifestation.

This is how the sound is done.It is done outloud chanted outloud WAH WAH HEY HEY WAH WAH HEY HEY WAH WAH HEY HEY GURU this is done very quickly while pumping your navel with each sound. All on one breath then you just take a sip in very quickly so you don’t really interrupt the sound current of this. Try this for 31 minutes and you will feel incredibly empowered and awakened. Maybe not the first few times because you will struggle with the sounds, you will struggle with the sitting, your will struggle with why the hell you are doing this. Resistance is the biggest block to getting the gifts of this meditation see how unresistant you can become.

If you were hoping for a simple breath meditation here is one you can choose. Sitting positions the same as the first one

Hands in lotus pose. Meaning the thumb and the pinky (mercury -communication) fingers are touching their counterpart across. The left thumb touches the right thumb and the pinky fingers do the same. Hold this mudra (hand position) in-front of your heart not touching the chest. eyes 9/10;s closed looking at the tip of the nose. Inhale sipping breath to a SLOW count of 4 then exhale through your nose in 4 parts, hold the breath out for 6 counts and begin again. This meditation is to calm and center the mind and remove anxiety.

Current sounds

The balloon of suppression is popping all over the world, especially in the Mideast. Egypt, Social Media driven peaceful, well mostly peaceful, overthrow. Libya more violent. The word out on the streets and online is all these dictators must go.  The year of the Rabbit allows the peacemakers to come forth. This is not to say all will be peace. Only to say that dictatorships will fall and fall fast because things that were unseen and previously unheard can now be unveiled.

It was so wonderful seeing the interview on 60 minutes about the Google employee, who is their manager for the Mideast, speak of when his blindfold was taken off that he went up and kissed each of his guards. He understood that they were uneducated and meant him no harm they just thought he was trying to destroy their country. The sounds of blows and the sound of kisses in return. Truly that is the path of the saint. No canonization here but the capacity to see through the normal perceptions with compassion has a sound wave that brought a country’s dictator down.

The sound current of compassion is loud. The sound of anger is jarring. The sound current of love is deep. The sound current of one voice is transformational. Every move we make seen or unseen creates a sound. That sound changes the composition of the Universe in some way. The more conscious we are the more vast the  sound. The more connected we are the wider the sound. How is your current vibrating today?

Are you aware of how important what you are adding to the sound stew is? Is it a spice or ingredient that is needed or just way to much salt? Do you feel the need for more silence or more noise? Silence gives us vastness. It expands us. It slows us down and spreads us up, yes up. Noise and hurry makes us have tight squeaky sounds that irritate all around us.

Yesterday my beloved did and interview with PBS on Alternative ways of eating and living. They fell in love with his voice and told him he should do voice overs. He was completely non plused by this. His voice is majic I fell in love with his voice first. I have told him he could recite the ABC’s and I would listen gladly. It is his cadence, his rhythm, his North Carolina Accent and the feeling that he is just there with you. Why because he totally inhabits his voice. Because the range has depth, kindness and  vastness cause you to trust him, to allow him to wrap you in his voice. He has not studied some book about influencing people with his cadence as others have he  genuinely loves people. He is one of the most calm present people I have ever met. You just want to dive into his voice. They felt this and wanted more of his sound current. Do people run to hear you or run away from you when you speak? Maybe neither but pay attention to peoples response to your sound current. Watch their body language it will tell you how they really feel.

Want a couple great ways to open your voice and expand your sound current. Chanting is one great way to open your voice so you can rejoice. Open heart and open voice go together. Another is paying attention to how you speak.  Actually record yourself for a day ad then listen back to all you say. It is quite an eye and ear opening lesson about your current sound.

Daring

I’ve decide to do something daring and I really don’t know if I can do it. I don’t say that about much. I have promised to blog about something deep each day. Oh but that is not all I’m promising all this when I’m leaving with Keith for almost a week to go back to North Carolina. I have no idea what Internet access will be like. I have no idea of anything.

That is the point of this blog. Emptiness:  When you really get empty it may be scary but empty holds the potential for everything. Empty is scary because of the vastness. Empty is scary because of it’s unfamiliarity. Empty is scary because we equate it to not enough and starving. Empty is quite the opposite of that. It is vast and vastness scares us all. It’s the want it, push it away. Want it, thwart it. Want it, run from it full on. Want it and if you and me are willing to dance with emptiness it will enfold us. Yes enfold not engulf us.

This morning Keith and I were meditating together. We were doing Long Ek Ong Kars (if you don’t know what that is connect with me you need to) and I must have stopped the external chant but it was still doing me. It was so profound I could neither move, nor make a sound. I just became the sound. I just was and was not at the same time. It wasn’t a matter of liking it or even loving it. I became it. I was empty the sound was everything. Yes words seem empty trying to wedge them into spaces that give you the vastness of the eternity of that sound. We are only here to feed our souls and touch the souls of others. All else is just filler. Filler can be fun but know it is filler not the gift. Your gifts must be brought through. Become empty, Become vast. Become essential.
