On birthdays of holy people, you want to get in on the participation because blessings, chants, prayers abound—the alchemy that creates the good. Often, you will find that these birthdays are not real days of human birth but more like the closest new moon (or full moon) to their estimated time of liberation or their day of leaving their body behind. This week is Guru Ram Das’s birthday which is right in tune with the new moon in Libra. So, it’s a coming into balance, which is what Guru Ram Das is known for, and a time for healing. What is healing but coming into balance on one (or more than one) dimension. Remember that death is also looked at as a healing event. We just don’t see this from our limited perspective. Death can be of the physical body or the death of something that needs to be let go of, or released. What do you need to die to? This is the time to offer that.
What I suggest for this week is lots of Chanting to Guru Ram Das. Ra means Sun; Ma means Moon; Da means Servant, and Sa means Truth. So, allow this energy to serve your truth—to help you build your truth-source. Call on that beloved energy of Guru Ram Das to wash away the debris of the past. If you have the great fortune to be at the Golden Temple, you will understand Guru Ram Das better. There is chanting there—done for about 20 hours each and every day. The water around the temple carries all that vibration so you can bathe in it and experience that healing energy of the Naam. So, chanting is part of this healing. We will be doing lots of chanting in classes this week. If you are in the LA area, make the most of nightly chanting and food at different people’s houses. Call 310-8587691 for the destination on the night you can make it. It is worth it, a 31-minute chant for miracles in the family. These miracles do not occur as you think they should be but they are always miracles. Open your heart to see them.
Guru Ram Das was very humble—a guru by day and by night. He went out into the streets to bathe and take care of the poor and sick. He played his role as guru but his true role was of the heart; that of a healer. He performed not just physical healing but a healing of the soul. This is a wonderful time to tune in. You can get some Guru Ram Das chants on iTunes, at www.rootlight.com or www.spiritvoygae.com. Get them and make them yours. The energy gained can be used for yourself and more powerfully sent to those in need around you. So, be generous with your time. Spend a lot of it chanting. Collect all this energy of this servant or the heart, for all healing comes from the heart. Heart to heart, I love you. Wahe Guru.
Praise that which has come to you to uplift you to be more loving, to see more love, and to experience love. Love and gratitude is all there really is. Guru Ram Das personifies this. Bathe at this time till the new moon. Bathe in the light and love known as Guru Ram Das. Allow his energy to serve you on this journey of love called life.
All love and healing in the Divine,
