Do you sometimes feel that you are alone in what you are doing; that you may have part of your community but not all of it; that you have people you love but you need a guiding force? Do you spend too much time online hoping to feel connected or to make up for lack of connections that really feed your essence?
Let me tell you something. I have been part of a community all my life. First it was my raucous family of 8 in a 2, then 4, bedroom house; then boarding schools where you could feel totally connected, or totally alone, or both. Then, college, where we had freedom to choose our communities. Wooo hooo, that was great! I chose not to be part of a sorority because I didn’t want anyone telling me who I could be with and who I couldn’t be with. I, the private school Catholic girl, got to jump in and date Jewish men.
My father asked me why I didn’t pick up my dates at the Newman Center (Catholic center) instead of the Synagogue. Ha, I wasn’t picking them up at either of those places. I was meeting them in life and parties in my new community of 4,000, not 200. Then I got swept into a community of hippies protesting. Yes, doing lots of drugs and, yes, craving a much deeper connection to The Divine to break all the barriers and have true freedom. This path led me to yoga, meditation, and a life of spiritual community, then into creating spiritual communities all over Canada. And I could go on about that since there is no happy ending to anything (there are just continuums) but we rarely see that except in hindsight.
Communities start, hopefully grow and evolve. You come into them at whatever station you board that train. It may be in its barely-begun evolution, in a growth spurt, it’s congealing stage, or it’s already coming apart and reforming into something you may or may not feel connected to. I have experienced all these.
A community is not a stagnant thing, but a living organism that grows and shifts and dies and maybe is reborn in a different form. I want to invite you in; to be part of my community. It will be taking a huge leap this year and I want you to be in it as that leap is happening.
If you sign in, you will get a gift from me that will serve you. This is just the beginning of the gifts you will receive. I also want you to know that I look forward to hearing from you, for that is what community means—that we are connected and are part of each other. I also count on you taking my offers to uplift yourself as they come, for truthfully, a community is not just a resting place, but also hopefully one that pushes you to grow. I can promise that I will do that to, and with you, for you are part of my large and amazing community.
If you want to find a new place in life, a new place in yourself, a new place to get the light and understanding that your essence craves, then please stay tuned, for that is the platform of this community. I want to help you bring forth your light and know how to fan those flames; to pick yourself up when you fall down; to have more discipline to do the things that you know you should, could, and would because they will serve you and those around you. Work is truly worship. Love you.
Wahe Guru love to you,
