Felt hopeless? Depressed? Confused? Let’s take these words apart. Inside “hopeless” lies “hope.” Inside “depressed” lies “pressed” which can mean ironed out, pressed for time, or that all the wrinkles have been taken out of something. Then we have “confused” which has the word “fused” which means “connected to securely.” The “con” is the “without” part. No wonder we call some people con artists – the ones that leave us without. I want you to think of 3 new words you want. You want to feel or that you just love. I love my definition of rapture. Something that takes all of my attention and makes it all experience ecstasy. Not that I will be taken up with my body. I’m not going to need the body, that’s why you leave it here when you go. I also love “venerate.” Just think if we all venerated each other. That would be a (Wahe Guru) place to be! It’s cohesive-connection yummy, not corrosive-connection which strips us of our joy. One gives and one takes away. We can be both.
Please share your favorite words and why you choose them. What do they do to you and for you? Words effect us deeply. I know the sticks and stones thing but words matter. What matters to you? What words would you use to define yourself now. Find ones you can stretch into that have a feeling of expansion or delightful dancing.
Today at Whole Foods, this big, beautiful black woman motioned me over, but I wasn’t finished shopping. I said I would be right back and she was still available when I was ready. We sung and danced to a song that came on the radio. I then said I just need to dance through life. So she then asked me what the rest of my day was like if I was just going home to relax. I said, “No, I just got back and was leaving again in a couple days so I needed to really get a lot done.” She asked where I had been and out popped, “To see my partner and my daughter,” complete with the cancer thing, which I don’t share with strangers. We had bonded in those moments. I take it she was supposed to know or it would not have popped out. She was very lovely and she said, “Come see me the next time you come back. I am so greatful there was no pity nor sorrow. Just connection. Our words are wraps. What are you wrapping your life in?
Love and Blessings,
