5 Tips on How to Deal with Your Sensitivity & Beyond

Posted by lima5ive

Being sensitive, being vulnerable, longing for more intimacy… Yes, they are all related my love.

Each day deserves us, so, notice it’s gifts—the ones trying to pour on and through us. If we are so overly sensitive that makes it hard to be aware of this bounty and not overwhelmed by it.

I want to say, if you find yourself one of the sensitives, here are some things I know.

1. Clear and expand your magnetic field so it can take the brunt of the world (not yours) and heart and soul. It is meant for that.

Here is a link to one of my favorites for this:

https://youtu.be/gmoOXL7MjIY

2. Make sure you eat grounding foods. Root foods are good. You don’t need meat to ground you. Promise. Eliminate junk food and eat only fruit sugars. Sugar trashes your nervous system. All sensitives have very delicately tuned nervous systems. Take care of yours.

3. Go to sleep at night with care. Take a shower, wash your hair, rub your feet, use lavender and chamomile and marjoram essential oils on your feet and in your bed. Clear your magnetic field and read a couple of mystics’ poems. Do a 3 to 11-minute meditation and wrap yourself up in the wings of the Divine.

4. Keep your favorite mantra going in your home, office, and car so it is with you. Even when it’s not on physically playing, it plays inside of you.

5. Remember, your breath is the fastest way to clear things. Don’t let yourself fixate on what happened, what is happening, what should have happened, etc. Breathe it out with Break Breath. Focus on big exhales to release.

Don’t know break breath? Here is another:

NOTICE THE THINGS THAT MATTER AND FEED YOU, then do more of that.

What more do you want?

by Gurutej

A mere walk till the clouds started dancing

Then I too joined in

their romp

to move and bump

and morf

I fell to my knees

with delight

They turned pink

I clapped and laughed

A huge, dark, spreading pine

soaked up their colors

did a dark swaying dance.

Flicking colors

we, in awe

she didn’t care

not there to preform

yet we got the delight

of her slow graceful sway

So much beauty

What else is needed to feel

the caress of Divine love

The Divine is Simple. We love to complicate things, but the Truth isn’t complicated.

Clear yourself, strengthen your magnetic field and nervous system, pay attention to whom you talk with and gravitate to, go to sleep with care. Remember your breath is there to change your perspective, your energy, your life, use it. Mantra is your best friend.

Feel Blessed that you feel—that you are alive. That you can wake up.

5 Top Tips on Dealing with Challenges

Posted by lima5ive

Challenges begone! Don’t you wish you could just wave your magic wand or even do the PERFECT meditation and poof, it would all be gone?

Yes, me too, but that is not how this blessed planet works. It is an earth-and-ether combo that works. And, yes, it works differently for everyone. So, try these tips and work with them, for you. This is about your having tools to deal with all the bumps and thumps that come with this beautiful gift of life.

I remember thinking, after my daughter left her body, that I deserved a free ride from there on out. That was a real “Ha!” moment. No such deals. The only deal is to have a damn good tool kit and the discipline and attraction to use them often.

So here they are my top tools.

  1. How you set yourself each morning determines how you will deal with the day. What do you need to do to set the foundation of you? I meditate and say prayers first. Then exercise.
  1. Sleep, not the 8-hour thing, but lie down and be with the challenge. Take a nap or, yes, sleep on it. Not to forget it, but to gain more clarity.
  1. Have a fearless conversation with yourself about it. Record it, give yourself advice, and then listen back to yourself, or call a trusted friend who will listen and do the same thing and listen to your voice as you say it. Listen to the words, listen to the unsaid things, listen to the fear and the wisdom become the observer. Get neutral with…
  1. Breathe. Change your breath pattern. The breath pattern when stressed or challenged is not one that will serve you to find the best options on how to deal with the challenge. Break Breath is my favorite. 2-part, 4-part—it doesn’t matter.
  1. Go outside and take a walk, a run, a swim, a roller blade, a trampoline… Change your energy state. Being outside will get you out of your uncomforted zone and you will see things differently.

The other day, I was having a challenging day, and so we went for a walk. My foot was in a lot of pain, so I didn’t want to go for a walk, but then I started taking picturess of all the things I love, and I heard this call, and I knew that call—it was the hawk. Indeed, there she sat. I knew it was a she ‘cause she was big—bigger that the he, as female hawks are supposed to be. The crows were dive-bombing, saying, “Go away you egg stealer! Not in our hood.” She just sat till she was ready to move. Then I got to see her take flight… ahhh. Loved the hawk-crow play as well. I would have missed this had I opted to staying home with my painful foot. They talked to me… told me to sit, be willing to be swooped and to be the one being swooped—to dive in and see more deeply into… the challenge.

Watch this video. Breath with powerful movement that can serve you.

Meditation to release the past to have a vast fulfilled now:

https://youtu.be/yvPNSuH4GfU

Now, I ask that you remember why you are really here.

Love and Blessings,

Oh My! What you have missed? PART 2

Posted by Gurutej

Oh My! What have you missed PART 2

Oh My! What have you missed PART 2

Back from a rollerblade. Today, the birds were really talking to me. The hummingbirds were chasing everything smaller than crows and playing wildly across the road back and forth, reminding me of the joy that is ours for the claiming. Humming birds are known as “joy” in the Native American medicine. They are the carrier of joy; the bringers of that majic back into your life. They reminded me that change isn’t easy. I get it. I am looking at leaving the city I have loved—my city of Angles by the sea that feed my soul. I am a city girl moving to a small, actually super small, town in the middle of the desert. Why, because this is what I am being lead, pushed, moved towards. It is not desire but destiny. If I wasn’t willing to listen and get curious and open even though it is not my desire, I would miss out on this leap—the leap that love is a greater opener than fear.

So I encourage you to get curious and not mad or sad (#3)—to take three steps back and see where The Divine flow is trying to move you… maybe against your will. How can you drop your will and enter the willingness of what is moving you? Are you willing to get poor, to fail, to be able to really rise up? I heard this great story that the head of this secret, or not so secret, Google Lab actually hugs people when they fail. He says, “If you aren’t willing to fail, you will never succeed.” Failure is part of the co-creation game. Are you willing to be a co-creator? I want you to be willing to fail, to learn, to get curious about what is or can be different. What can be better, but also what can be worse? Are you open to being amazingly prosperous but willing to sit with being “very poor”? You can’t say yes to one without being able to invite the other aspect of prosperous to tea and listen. For being “truly poor” is our worst fear. Yet, “really poor” is not being financially challenged. Really poor is not caring, not being connected, not willing to let God drag you around by your hair and be “greatful.”

The outcome you want promised is great prosperity. I can promise you that on a very, very deep level.

Practice #4. Align your ears and heart and listen from that connected state. Sounds so easy? Yes, sure. Yet we listen through our filter of the past, or filters of protection, our filters of what we have been told our mantras of decimation. Tis time to get new mantras that serve and support you. “I know the unknown is known to me” is a good one. Just say that and see what gets revealed. You have to create stillness to hear the response. I like myself, I love myself, I see my soul is a great one even better done before a mirror every day for minimum of 11 minutes—1 minute breathing; 15 seconds inhale, 15 hold, 15 exhale, 15 hold out. Pick one and make it your friend. They will align you with heart and that is the remover of fear. Fear is both a great motivator and a possible immobilizer. You get to choose each moment. I hope you have the support, the tools I just gave you and the trust in yourself to try these tools and use them. The knowingness that nothing in your life is more important than you. Invest in you. Invest in becoming the vastness of you. Invest in saying yes and yes and yes to using all your life as a way to claim that vastness, so you can share your gifts; so you can leave the legacy you were meant to leave.

You have a chance to have a private 20-30-minute strategy session with me that can lead to getting a new lease on your next leap.

I will only have a few slots this next few weeks so if you feel a calling, then this is your time to jump in.

Overwhelm Antidote

OverwhelmOverwhelm Antidote

Overwhelm. When I hear this word, I see a huge 20-ft wave cresting over the person speaking of feeling like this. This is not the type of wave you can swim under, ride in body surfing, or survive. It is the type of wave that crushes and sucks the life out of you. That is what “overwhelm” does. It sucks all your breath, your life force, out of you. The longer you stay in that state, the more of your life it claims.

When you are functioning on overwhelm mode on a regular basis, you are just existing. You are not enjoying your life; not breathing; not feeling hopeful. You are missing the flipside of “overwhelm” which is hopeful, joyous, and vibrant. The interesting thing about everything is that it has a flipside which is usually it’s polar opposite. The great thing is that it often only takes a choice or a life-changing event, or what we call a miracle, to switch you from forlorn and overwhelmed to hopeful and joyously creative.

You can wait around for the miracle (or truly to have the eyes and heart to see the miracle) or you can actually decide that you need to change something in your life because you can’t or truly won’t live like this anymore. That defining moment can be right now when you are in the next state of overwhelm, or never. Be clear that you have many chances to change this and all other situations. Your feelings trigger your thoughts; your thoughts trigger your actions. Repetitive actions create the patterns and habits that are the underpinnings of your life. Habits don’t arrive out of thin air. They are created because you are telling yourself that you need them. You need a habit for many and various assorted reasons, but you have a need.

The great thing with giving up overwhelm is this:

  • It is only a state of mind that drives the actions to keep you so busy you can’t feel your real self.
  • You have buried you alive. You have made decisions that have literally buried you alive.
  • If you want to unearth you, you need to be willing to do something that will give you the power to rise from the dead.

Are you ready to do that? What are you ready to say yes to? It doesn’t have to take a lot of time but it has to take a lot of intent to have a different life. That can be scary. As much as you might say you want something different, it is often the want to want. You wish it would be different but not enough to take those really scary actions to make it so. I only want those who are ready to jump off the end of the bridge and trust that there is more that they can deserve. Desire, then do the action to move you in the right direction.

If you are saying yes, yes please me I really want to change because I want more life and less lifelessness, then I want you to follow me. First do this exercise in this wonderful little video: http://darkhibernation.com/tag/dragon-breath/ This will break the overwhelm in the now. Then you need to build a new life literally based on hope and joy. Now get this and all will change if you do. http://gurutej.downloads.private.s3.amazonaws.com/books/get-your-ESSENCE-back-pro.pdf/

Deep Love and Blessings,

Time, Space and You

Posted by Gurutej

Time, Space and You

Time is the earth unfolding. It is an agreement of guidelines for the earth interactions. I always remember how time-challenged Pritham was. She had her own time/clock and if she could help it she was staying true to that.

I remember when Beverly Hills High school called me and said Pritham was late for every class even though she was on campus. Could I help them get her to class on time? I laughed—not the answer they were expecting. I shared what my mornings were like, getting her out of the house so her brother and cousin wouldn’t always be late for school. They called me back a few days later and shared this story: “We called Pritham in and told her that we would dock her a full grade every time she was late for a class and her response was, ‘Do whatever you have to do.’” They were freaked out and didn’t know what to do.

What’s the lesson there? Don’t ever give threats you can’t keep. Don’t threaten people with things they aren’t afraid of. Time is somewhat agreed upon by most of us. It keeps you grounded and on track. You look at your calendars to see what time you have appointments, to schedule your days, to try and separate the various aspects of your lives.

Space. It is the ether part of our lives. Do you schedule time to be in space? They say spacing out is very necessary for brain function—one of the top 5 things. We have curiosity, humor, deep sleep, spacing out, and fearless action. Even more nourishing than spacing out is meditation. One does not exclude the other. They both create space. Aren’t you always asking for more space in your life? You want more space to live in, more physical space, more space in relationships, etc., but what you really want is the spaciousness within yourself—that vastness that allows you to realize you are on the earth but of the ether. We need both aspects to filter through your “I am; your “I am-ness.”

Think of all the space movies and operas on television. These reflect the longing to know and be more connected to the vastness that is the universe; the known and unknown. We want to know the unknown, but mostly we look to others to tell us what is out there. Go there yourself and beyond.

Meditation/Chanting is truly there to take you into the spheres beyond time and space. First, you must go into the spaciousness of space before you can go beyond it.

The best way to get vast and connected is to:

  1. Have the desire to know and befriend the unknown
  2. Take the time each day to grow those muscles by spending time meditating
  3. Chant and play with the Essence of the Divine.
  4. Look at that percentage of your day you devote to your vastness.

This will feed the “I am-ness” of you. Then, you get time and space to serve you. Both of these aspects have vastness. Time is horizontal and space is vertical in their directions of vastness. When you feel fear, try this mudra. It will reconnect you to the vast essence of you.

Fold your ring (Sun) finger and your middle (Saturn) finger into your palm and press them down with your thumb. Do this on both hands, allowing the first finger (Jupiter) and the last finger (Mercury) to extend out, straight. Breathe long and deep. This will take you deep quickly. Do this often, 3-5 times each day for 40 days and then share what it has done for you.

Watch more quick yoga exercises on my YouTube channel.

Wahe Guru. May vastness encompass you.

Ahhh, 7 Things You Can Do to Rejuvenate Your Nervous System

Posted by Gurutej

Yoga Breathing TechniquesAhhh, 7 Things You Can Do to Rejuvenate Your Nervous System

In the last blog (read if you haven’t yet), I spoke of what we do to stress, hinder, and destroy, our wonderful nervous system which is also our vibratory system. We can only vibrate at the level of our nervous system. If our nervous system is challenged (super challenged), wrecked (destroyed), we vibrate on a very basic survival level of panic and fear. The more whole, calm, and free our nervous system is, the more effective we are. I am going over a list of 7 of the top things you can do for you that will give your priceless nervous system the tune up it deserves.

1. Chant, pray, sing uplifting songs. Your nervous system is a frequency system and it responds to sound. Speak lovingly; be around people who are aware of their words. Then have fun chanting for you are calling on the Divine in all.

2. Eat live foods. Eat as much green (in color) as possible. Celery is the best nervous system food as well as ginger. Their strings are just like your nerves. The chlorophyll and the calcium in the greens will sooth your nervous system. They are the very best (yes, better than milk and dairy by far), and they far exceed the calcium of dairy. Calcium is soothing to the nerves. Live food shares its life with you.

3. How you eat matters. Take the time to sit and be with your food. Let it truly feed you. Eat in silence when possible, absorbing the connection with your food. Here’s a bonus: You will know when you are full if you eat this way.

4. Exercise whether you feel like it or not. Yoga is best because it will connect you to yourself and give you space to be gracefully connected to others. In Kundalini Yoga, there are great nervous system sets.

5. Meditate. It is the single best thing you can do to calm your mind and nerves. When your mind is agitated, it takes its toll on your nervous system because it causes stressors to be released. When you are stressed, your glands release hormones like cortisol from the adrenals that your nerves experience as red alert signals or a call to action—the action of saving you from some serious situation.

6. Drink lots of alkaline water. Alkaline water makes the body and your nerves go, ahhh. Acid systems put it on alert. That is, it needs to try and bring you back to a more alkaline state.

7. Breathe. Take breath breaks. To get over stressors, don’t think long deep breaths; think Break Breath. Breathe in through the mouth or nose in sips. Use the4-Part Breath or Dragon Breath.

http://darkhibernation.com/tag/dragon-breath/

These breathing techniques can bring you back from the brink of whatever stressed state you’re in; then you can go for long and slow. Watch more energy videos on my YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/theenergygurus

If your nerves are frazzled, so are you. If your nervous system is long and cool, then so are you. You are a reflection of your nervous system. Your nerves have quite enough natural daily stressors from finances, to children, to jobs, to friends, to family, to internal situations you are wrestling with, to what you think should be happening (and the gap between that and what is happening); so many things—each and every day—to deal with. When you do all or at least some of the 7 suggestions, you will find you are more able to deal with the stressors that come your way because you are not adding to them. You should be working with your nervous system; not be at odds with it, causing more stress.

You have the opportunity to have a great nervous system. Come to class next month; we are focusing on the nervous system. I will have a DVD out soon for the nervous system. It is just that important that we all have a strong and bright nervous system. Breathing for calm: Say Woooo on the inhale and Laaaaa on the exhale. May the internal calm be yours.

All love and blessings,

Gurutej Khalsa

Want More Clarity?

Posted by Gurutej
· January 17, 2013

Clarity is a premium asset. From this place we can make good to great decisions. It means our emotions are not driving the decision. It means we are not attached to the outcome. It means we can see beyond what we think should be into what the gifts are, no matter what.

Clarity means that we have a freedom from the confinement of being trapped into what society says, what fashion says, or what your inner little demons say. It is truly a place of peace—a clear place where grace is truly the guiding light. It is a priceless place because you are neither swayed by others nor unkind or unconscious of them. It is a very inclusive place.

So how do we get to clarity? Funny, I keep coming back to the same things—breathing, chanting, meditating, how to eat, how to speak, etc. If you meditate or exercise, chant it. It is much more difficult to eat trashy foods which can truly make us crazy. It is like backing into a dump and taking the trash home with us. When you eat badly, do you ever feel energetic or clear?

So, clarity has it’s friends that keep it alive and ones that kill it. When I don’t feel clear, I try to go outside and roller blade some hills, or sit on my mat for a few minutes and chant or do a meditation that works. Yes we all lose our clarity. It is knowing how to re-find it that counts. But what counts even more is knowing you have lost it and then wanting it back again. Do something new or powerful in the moment while not hoping that it’s shelf life will expire.

I created my mental clarity DVD for just these times. http://darkhibernation.com/store/kundalini-yoga-dvds/yoga-for-mental-clarity-dvd/

When we feel funky, we tend to do funky things to ourselves. We all need support especially when you are trying to create a new habit. I encourage you to do this DVD for 40 days and connect with me each day just to check in and express how that day was for you. You can get the Digital bundle and save some, or the physical product bundle. http://darkhibernation.com/yoga-dvds-bundle/

Stay connected with me on this 40-day journey. Take the pledge to get clarity as your new best friend.

Wahe Guru blessings to you,

Gurutej Khalsa

Yesterday!

Posted by Gurutej

I want to say gone and that is true, but not what I had in mind. Yesterday I saw the most amazingly gorgeous butterfly flitting through my bougainvillaea. I just stood in awe. Then I saw a woman at OSH who was so big she shook the cement floors and she too was beautiful.  The women with the majical hair that I made smile by telling her that as I roller bladed by her.

Let’s do something together. If we can create habits and we all agree we can, right? Let’s create seeing the amazingness in each person, situation, object, problem we meet on this total adventure called life. Will you do this with me? Pretty and handsome, please.

Yesterday I asked a question on FB. What is your biggest challenge right now? One person answered resentment. So many of us carry this one around and it is heavy and we still carry it around. It never hurts the other person still we carry it around. It makes our heart heavy and closed down to love and other majic. Still we carry it around. Just put it down. Lease the space to something much more grand. Something that will make you feel good, loved, happy for no reason. Say to yourself you are the best. You are bright and beautiful and knowing this is something that was done out of ignorance. Yes, always ignorance even if you defend that it was not.

I want you to get back to amazingness at each corner. I can guarantee you that you will meet unfun situations in your life.   What do you do with them? Sit with crystals, meditate, chant: “I am, I am” to get the big and little picture. Reach out for what you want and create patterns that will give you that reward. The patterns you created yesterday or any of your yesterdays, do they still serve you today? If not stay tuned. I will be giving you more info about changing patterns so your habits support your desires, your passion, your purpose, your very essence. For now remember to B R E A T H E that one little thing can change it all. More to come.

Love and Blessings
