I believe in empowering Women to Get Your Essence Back! Let’s face it—as women, we are so good at being able to get out of things. We know how to slide under it, to go over it, to go around it, to make excuses like, “Ah, just not today.” My daughter had this great saying when she was younger. I used to buy her all these clothes. We lived in this Italian neighborhood and they had all these fabulous Italian knitted dresses and I would buy them for her. I wanted her to try them on to wear them but she would just tell me, “Thank you… not today.” Those dresses stayed inside her closet. I learned that that kind phrase meant those things are never leaving her closet. She’s a Virgo. So she changed her clothes at least three or four times a day and if I put her in something that she didn’t like, she would just immediately spill something on it and that would be the end of it. So, I learned what Thank you, but not today meant from her. As women, we are so good at getting around things we don’t want or want to do. We learned how to do this really early.
Right now, I want you to make a list of names and I want you to figure out who among them would be your first choice to be your best support partner. I want you to really pursue the person you want to be your partner in this journey.
These are the requirements that your partner needs:
- Your partner needs to possess a really good sense of humor because if you get bitchy, feisty, or something else, they can just humor you out of that.
- Your partner in this journey may or may not be your real life partner. It just depends on your relationship.
- Your partner must be someone who will not let you get away with things; somebody you cannot talk out of things.
If you tell them you can’t meditate today and you’ll just do it tomorrow, your partner must tell you to sit down and meditate right now before the clock strikes midnight. They will also instruct you to call them after you are done. This person is your partner. It means this person really cares enough about you that they will move your bad traits to the side. They care about you and they can be frank with you. They will find a way to help you uncover the essence of you and not run in some other direction during the process.
Make this list in the next 24 hours, not next year or next week, or better yet, just do this within the day. In 24 hours, you can find at least 10 minutes, right? This is very important, okay?
Now, it is time to start this magical journey. Remember that change brings fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear chases us and will try to hinder us from reaching our goals in life. We don’t really tell ourselves that we are afraid but deep inside we can be, and since we can be afraid, we often make excuses so we won’t hit that wall of fear. We always prefer to stay a safe distance away from that wall of fear because if we happen to be in that wall of fear, we would be so uncomfortable. So in this Get Your Essence Back Course, we are actually going to walk towards your wall of fear and be ready to dance with it.
