I met someone in The 99 Cent store today that I know only slightly. He is the husband of one of my students. He is in finances and wanted to share with me the end of the world.
Ok, so the world as we know it is going to end. What does that mean? It means we have to see things in a different way. We need different eyes and perceptions to shift the problems of today. Robert Reich, who is a very famous economist at Berkley, was saying that neither the Republican nor the Democratic platform will work. Each one is very one-sided. Each one will only serve half the problem at best. We need new ways to have things work because the middle class has lost it’s buying power. Our economy was based on this premise working. This can depress us or excite us. What new ideas, ways, businesses will emerge out of this? What new thinkers will come up with something unexpected? Will it be you? Or do you just go into your hole and not become whole?
What we expected will not happen. It never does. So why now? No matter how predictable we try to make life, it always has a habit of throwing in curve balls, usually many of them. Will you learn to play the new game? Will you create a new game? We know that this is a time of change and things must always die in times of change. Is there ever a time that is not about change? There is G. O. D. which starts with “G” for “generating,” then comes the “O” for “organized” (we love this part) before it gets the “D” for “destroyed or deepened.” This is the cycle of life on planet Earth. What will you do inside of this cycle? Live in fear? Act like nothing is happening?
Learn about what could be and then work with the only thing that matters – kissing the hairy belly of the divine in each moment.
Love and Blessings
