What is the NEXT thing in your life? What is it you really want to create, shift to or do? What seems like it is next up for you? Next is a very charged word. It can mean you are being passed over as in “Next” in a casting call. Or next can mean the next thing on your schedule or what is happening in the following month or week or day. It has many many meanings.
Next also means there is a next – that there is life after this moment in time. If we tell ourselves this when things are really challenging us, we can see past what seems to be blocking our future or any desire to have a future. Next can mean you can dismiss what you perceive as pain in this situation and see the payoff of this challenge while in it as opposed to seeing it only after it is “all over.”
Asking or saying “next” can link you to the breaking open of a ripe view of what was beyond your sometimes myopic perspective. I had someone I don’t really know well send me a FB message that they were going to be out on the street next month if they didn’t find a job. Now did I know anyone? They failed to tell me what they “could or would” do. It took many messages before I could get that information from them. Then I needed to know how much their rent was.
The interesting thing was they lived by themselves in a moderately expensive apartment, not outrageous by LA standards but they didn’t have a roommate, they weren’t looking into who they could move in with and yet they said they would be out on the street within 10 days.
What is your Next plan for your life and how far reaching is it? Sometimes we bury our heads in the proverbial sand hoping someone else will come up with the solution. I realize that life is neither easy nor fair; so do you. Next means you willing to look at what you really need to do next. What step needs to happen to keep you off the street? What next will help you do what it is you came here to do? What next will take care of earth and call on your Divinity, both. You can’t do just one. Well, you can really, but it is just not that effective. Don’t wait to look at next till you are facing eviction or whatever the situation is. Remember you can be evicted from your work, your relationship, your home, your health. They all just have different names but it is the same process. You went to sleep on the situation. You were hoping for something different. You made enemies with people you needed as comrades, mentors, or partners.
Please awake and look squarely into the eyes of your Next. It can tell you, if you listen, what needs to happen to shift the tides of your life. Meditate, then ask. A clear mind will glean more creative responses. Wahe Guru love to you.
This moment is your chance to see the infinite dance
