This is such a great time of year when we often think it’s a free pass to excess—excess sugar for Halloween, excess and heavy food for Thanksgiving, then we have “The Holidays” when it is all about excess sugar, alcohol, spending, eating—you name it—all in the name of fun.
True fun is doing something that you feel more energized when you come out of it than when you went in. It is not something that steals your energy like how heavy food makes you sleepy and steals your ooomph. You don’t have to go to Thanksgiving like a turkey. By that I mean sacrificing yourself on the altar of oh, well I have to eat this, it’s only once a year… La la la la. Bring yummy good things with healthy twists. I’m going to start giving you super easy recipes you can make that won’t kill you and others on the spot.
I will warn you that I don’t cook with measurements so I can’t give you exact measurements. I can only say work by smell and intuition.
Recipe for Yummy Sweet Potatoes
(Sorry no marshmallows. Do you really want to eat marshes?)
Depending on how many people bake or steam your sweet potatoes, peel a good size chunk of ginger and slice it very thin. Mix the ginger with cinnamon, a little nutmeg, allspice, and cardamom. You must use coconut oil instead of butter. Mix this luscious mixture with your sweet potatoes. They will taste so yummy.
Sweet potatoes are already soooo sweet you don’t need to add any kind of sweetener unless you are trying to put people in a coma.
You can bring nut loaves, and green beans that aren’t cooked to death, or mashed potatoes made so simple and yummy.
My Mashed Potatoes Recipe
Steam potatoes, then add coconut oil and a milk substitute, I like unsweetened rice for this salt-and-pepper and voila. You can also add some yummy herbs for a different flare. I love a little thyme and oregano
Give people something different and yummy. Stretch their idea of what good is. I will give you my raw chocolate mousse before the big day. It is always a BIG hit. Yes, it is sweet. Not a phase one on the glycemic index but a great bridge dessert.
I have so many of these yummies for your life recipes. You will find them easy and great in my The 13th Month Program, which is coming soon. In the meanwhile, pick up The 13th Month book.
Wahe Guru love and blessings to you,
